Growth: A bulbous herbaceous perennial in the onion family which forms large clumps. Grow mid border in the perennial or cottage garden in full sun to part shade or in a pot for culinary use. Divide clumps every 3-4 years. Easy to grow, drought tolerant.
Characteristics: Self-seeds if not deadheaded. Foliage and flowers are equally edible. Encourages pollinating insects. Deer resistant.
Colours: Thin, cylindrical, grass-like foliage with round, pale lavender-coloured flowers atop long sturdy stems. Blooms in early summer.
