Growth: Wide-spreading, rhizomatous. A great groundcover for dappled sun to full shade. Grow in the naturalized or woodland garden and let it spread between taller plants. Prefers moist, humous-rich soil.

Characteristics: Quickly spreading clumps which can be dug up and transplanted. Goes semi-dormant by late summer, or earlier if it gets too much sun. Self-seeding.

Colours: Mid-green lacy foliage. Branching spikes of small bleeding heart flowers emerge dark pink, fading to light pink from spring to early summer. Sporadic blooming after main flush is finished.
