Growth: Rhizomatous, native perennial found in open woods and meadows. Clump-forming with erect stems. Grow in the herbaceous border, cottage garden or in a naturalized setting in full sun or part shade. Will do well in many habitats, including wet to dry.

Characteristics: Blooms late June to August. Flowers are small, white and star-shaped, growing in clusters at the top of the stem. Stems are smooth, slender and 4-sided, with very narrow leaves whorled around the stem.
