Ligularia dentata ‘Othello’

(Leopard Plant)

Growth:  Large, mounding perennial for part or dappled shade. Grow as a specimen mid-border, in the bog garden or beside a water feature. Prefers moist, fertile soils.

Characteristics: Makes a bold statement with its large leaves and bright flowers. Like all Ligularias, it prefers not to be in direct sunlight and will look wilted until the sun passes on.

Colours: Large, rounded, leathery dark green leaves with purple backs look stunning all season. In mid to late summer, many sturdy stems bearing bright orange-gold daisy-like flowers make a bold statement above the foliage. Deadhead flower stalks when blooming ends.
