(Red baneberry)

Growth: A bushy plant for moist shade or dappled sun and acidic, humus-rich soil. Grow in the understory of a woodland or wetland garden.


Characteristics: Sawtoothed, bright green leaves on 1-3’ stems. Rounded clusters of tiny white flowers in leaf axils and the ends of stems develop into brilliant red berries by mid-summer. All parts of this plant are toxic to humans if ingested.
