Astrantia major (Masterwort – White)

Growth: robust, clump forming, bushy with erect flower stems. Self-seeds freely. Grow in the cottage garden, herbaceous border or woodland garden in part sun and consistently moist soil.

Characteristics: Branched clusters of greenish white pincushion flowers surrounded by showy bracts with a slightly pink tinge. Foliage is a robust clump of coarsely toothed, glossy green leaves. Blooms throughout the summer. Deadhead to promote bloom and check its self-seeding habit. Excellent cut flower.
